VERY SAD: A boy choked his cousin to death by accident...Kids you MUST train with qualified teachers.

HHCF FOUNDERS NOTE: Just a few weeks ago while on the yard at John O'Connell I saw two boys wrestling on the concrete. One of them put on what they did not realize was a picture perfect choke on his friends. They fell to the ground I walked over and as I got to them, the boy in the choke hold was about to pass out. I got them to stop and I told them both how deadly it was and that choke holds are not a game. Sadly, I knew long ago that we'd be seeing a new spike in deaths as kids try to emulate the things they see in the UFC or on Youtube fight videos. This is why real martial arts training is important. Parents and kids please pay attention to this. The founders of jiu jitsu did not create it for these kinds of things to happen. They did it to make the world a safer place for all humanity. This is a great video by Ryron and Rener and it shows the sincerity of the jiu jitsu community in its goals to keep American children and families safe.

On Sunday, April 1, 2012, a Louisiana man was choked to death by his younger cousin. Stephen A. Arceneaux III, a 24-year-old from Destrehan, was pronounced dead at 10:39 p.m. Sunday night, April 1, 2012. The two were at a house party and began wrestling around on an inflated mattress when the 14-year-old, 110 lbs. younger cousin placed Arceneaux in a Rear Naked Choke. After 30-40 seconds, witnesses noticed Arceneaux was turning blue so the choke was released. Arceneaux's girlfriend tried unsuccessfully to revive him before he was transported to the hostpital where he was pronounced dead.

In the wake of the tragic accident that occurred last week, the Gracie Brothers provide a video breakdown explaining precisely how Stephen Arceneaux III was choked to death by his younger cousin. Their hope is to educate the youth about the serious risks of practicing jiu-jitsu techniques, chokes in particular, without proper training and supervision.

Andy Richter Reps HHCF in Conan O'Brien Can't Stop!!

Andy Richter rocking the HHCF shirt (check the partial crown) the banana is a pretend PHONE....

OK, so I heard about this on Twitter when the movie first came out. A guy hit me up and was like, I'm at SXSW and I saw Any Richter from Conan rocking your shirt in his movie. I totally did not believe it. I really did not...I mean, ok...so, I met Andy Richter one day....Me and DJ Disk (Disk was my DJ long before he was DJ'ing for Herbie Hancock) were invited to shoot a commercial for EBay (we were in the positivity section of the Shop Victoriously campaign) that starred Andy. Andy was so cool and I gave him a shirt on the set. I never talked to him again and that was that. For all I knew he could threw it outta his Maybach or used it to dry his dog....NOPE, he wore it in the flick. I never had a still shot of it...Heres as good as it gets folks...This is the old school shirt. So, recognize real G's when you see 'em foooooooooooooooooooool. LOL

In all honesty, any acknowledgement is an honor. I feel very thankful that he rocked the shirt, even if its seen for only a second.
